Big news for my latest project: While I await the final cover art for my new YA novel, Good Luck, Fatty?!, I have decided to do a “soft release” of the ebook (meaning I will not be promoting it anywhere or charging anything for it*).
I expect this “soft release” period to last between one and four weeks, after which time the ebook will be priced at $2.99 (personally, I think it’s a crime to charge over $4.99 for ANY ebook, under ANY circumstances!).
Please feel free to download and (hopefully) enjoy! If you are inclined to do so, I would greatly appreciate any ratings/reviews (especially if you found something about the book to love
).
*Please note: Amazon will not let me set the price to FREE, so we’ll have to wait for their price-matching system to kick in and lower the price to zero. Meanwhile, Good Luck, Fatty?! can be downloaded in multiple formats at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/241715 and should also be appearing soon (if it hasn’t already) at Barnes and Noble, Apple ibooks, and most other ebook outlets.
Finally, to my readers: I owe you a debt of gratitude. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Excellent job with “Good Luck, Fatty?!” I took the initiative to add your latest to Goodreads, including the current cover (you can update it), write a review on Goodreads and Smashwords, and “Like” your rather sparse “marker” Facebook page. And I really meant it when I stated in the reviews that the book was impeccably edited, something rare in indy e-books these days.

Thank you, Paul. I appreciate the feedback! The first review is always the hardest to get (for some reason, nobody seems to want to blaze the trail!).
I checked out your Smashwords profile, and your book “You Can Believe It” looks very interesting. I plan to download the sample today. Are you indie, also? If so, have you considered the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest? It’s lots of fun, and you might do well there. The grand prize is a publishing contract and a $15,000 advance.
Thanks again for the positive words. They mean a lot.

Indie I am, Maggie. And I’ll have to check out the Amazon contest in spite of not being much of a competitive writer. And thanks for downloading the sample of YCBI in spite of the one two-star review awarded because the novel was “juvenile” and full of “angst”. Well, duh. All YA novels should be somewhat angsty and juvenile, IMHO. Anyway, hope you enjoy it and decide to read further.

Very cool. I love meeting indie writers. There are lots of others like us available to chat with on the ABNA discussion boards here: http://www.amazon.com/b?node=332264011 (you should check it out; they’re a very welcoming bunch). Maybe I’ll see you over there
